HOW I MET MY WIFE – TEMI (Part 5)

Welcome back to this series of helping you to search for the right woman (wife) for your life.

“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” (Prov. 31:10 – 12 NLT)

Remember I mentioned in the last episode of this series that I needed to go and reconfirm if she is the right woman for me by God.

As I was thinking of the opportunity of speaking to her through Kolawole, I was of the opinion of praying further to confirm my intention. So, as we were preparing for another youth programme on a Friday in the church, I picked my Bible, as usual, wrote the names of my “girlfriends” Temi inclusive, prayed and did a ballot.

Here is the simple prayer I prayed:

“O Lord, help me to pick the woman You have chosen for me to marry among these names.”

After the prayer, I picked the ballot paper with my eyes closed and it will surprise you that Temi was the one I picked. OMG! I have not even made my intention known to her and now I am here doing this. I repeated the process the second time and picked… Guess who? Temi again 😊

I said to myself, Taiwo, are you sure you are not being sentimental here? Then, I decided to repeat the process the third time. As I closed my eyes to pray, I heard a voice that says; “Are you doubting God?” Instantly, I stopped and packed my Bible and all the ballot papers.

Hmmmmm! What next should I do? I began to ponder on what I heard and as I was thinking on what next to do, I remembered the elderly man of God who was a prophet, and I went to him, explained everything and presented the names to him. Immediately, he said, let us pray.

After the prayer, he explained deeply my journey with each of the ladies if I marry any of the 3 ladies I presented before him and the most… is Temi. I was like sir; I have not even spoken to her and one of the ladies. One of them was just a friend. But I love this one… He prayed and advised me to go for her.

As if I was seated in an exam room. Well, I decided I was going to tell her my mind that day and nothing can stop me. 😊 So, I wrote on a small piece of paper; “Sister Funmi, there is something very important that I’d like to share with you after the vigil. Please, let’s see…”

When I got to the church, I gave the note to someone to pass it across to her as I cannot confront her myself. You know now…

Immediately after the vigil, one of the Youth Fellowship Group members called me to share something very important with me which required urgent attention, and that discussion took a time that I was unable to meet Temi for our discussions as mentioned.

So, Temi left the church in the morning annoyed, thinking maybe I intentionally did not want to talk to her and was engaged by another person. Oluwa oooooooo….

On getting home, I got a call from my boss that I needed to be in Abuja with the next available flight for a very important job with the CBN. Jesus! What?

I pray for you, whatever will stop you from getting what God has planned for your life, shall give way, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Watch out for the next episode.
